‘Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs’ Retold at UPH Tourism Faculty’s Gala Lunch.
Students of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) Hotel Management Program Study under the Tourism Faculty provided a magical experience through the Gala Lunch on Monday, 17 June 2019 at UPH Lippo Village. The Gala Lunch was held at the Final Exam for the students. The Gala Lunch was part of Food N Beverages Management and was opened four times on 14, 17, 19 until 21 June 2019 at UPH Lippo Village.
The themes of this Gala Lunch is varied, starting from Western Europe, Bavarian, Greece (Southern & Southeast Europe), and Scandinavia. However, for the second day, the event was continued with a theme of Western Europe, taking on the title of ‘Le Beau’ – The Beauty. With ‘Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs’ as its base story, it tells of a story where one bite of the food does not cause sleep, but actually allowed dreams to come true. This was realized by the students when they tasted the food.
The Gala Lunch invited Director of Food N Beverage of Swiss Belhotel International, Asiro Poltak Senior, UPH Chancellor, Dr. (Hon.) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc., UPH alumnus, Allan Christo Titah of Coffee & Beverage Development, and The Peak Connoisseurs Commissioner, Jovian Nevius. The event had parents in attendance, too.
Titah commented, “The service is excellent. The only feedback I might give is regarding the serving duration. However, overall, I appreciate their efforts in giving clarification and apologizing to guests regarding their lateness in serving the food. In my opinion, that is a good attitude.”
In addition, Chancellor Parapak said that this is an excellent activity that can be shaped into a precious learning experience for the students.
Chancellor Parapak said, “Overall, the ambient light, service, waiters, waitresses, and facilities are excellent and very good. I hope that the students can take what they learn and apply it in the real industry of Food N Beverages.”
The magical and excellent food on the menu is as follows: The Golden Jewel of the Deep (Appetizer), which is seared scallops with lemon butter sauce; The Scarlet Fountain (Soup), which is tomato soup; Vibrant Highgarden (Main Course), which is seared tenderloin with mushrooms and potato chips; Lady in Red (Dessert), which is chocolate mousse with raspberries; and finally, Peachy Chamomile Martini and Virgin White Lady (Beverages).
