UPH Surabaya Law Student Wins First Place in Two Prestigious Bank Indonesia Competitions.
Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) has once again achieved remarkable success through Nafis Dwi Kartiko, a Law student from the Surabaya Campus, who secured first place in two prestigious academic writing competitions. Nafis, a part-time student at UPH Surabaya Campus, demonstrated his academic prowess by winning 1st Place in the “Papedanomics Writing Competition” organized by Bank Indonesia Papua Barat and another 1st Place in the “Call for Papers” for University Students at the Jogja Economic Forum 2024, hosted by Bank Indonesia.
The Papedanomics Writing Competition, held by Bank Indonesia Papua Barat, aims to foster the younger generation’s interest in and understanding of regional and national economic issues. In this competition, Nafis and his two teammates presented a creative analysis and solution that the judges praised as innovative and applicable to the economic development of Papua Barat. Their winning paper, titled “Exploration and the Role of Digital Economy in Driving Inclusive Growth: A Case Study in Papua Barat Province”, stood out for its relevance and practicality.
In addition to this achievement, Nafis also triumphed in the “Call for Papers” for University Students organized by Bank Indonesia Yogyakarta at the Jogja Economic Forum 2024. This prestigious forum gathers young economic thinkers from across Indonesia. Nafis captured attention with his innovative ideas addressing the economy of Yogyakarta and its contribution to national economic resilience and recovery.
Dr. Fajar Sugianto, S.H., M.H., Head of the Law Program at UPH Surabaya Campus, expressed his pride in Nafis’s accomplishments. “Nafis’s achievements highlight that part-time students at UPH have the same opportunities to compete academically at the national level. His success is a source of pride for the entire academic community and reflects the academic standards and quality of the Law Program at UPH Surabaya Campus,” he stated.
Nafis Dwi Kartiko’s series of accomplishments in academic writing competitions have garnered various awards and recognition. His participation in these competitions has honed his critical thinking and problem-solving skills. It is hoped that Nafis’s achievements will inspire other students to continue developing themselves and contribute to Indonesia’s economic growth through innovative and solution-oriented ideas.
