Students’ enthusiasm can really be felt in the atmosphere, as well as the facilitators when they were talking about the workshop material; even the teachers who supervised the students were enjoying student’s enthusiasm during the workshops.
Following are some of their stories:
“I think it’s really great! Students are directed to know what major they might want to choose in the future. For example, animation; the facilitator would explain how they can create a good animation. Aside from that UPH has a good location, it’s far from downtown, it has great facilities, and it has a great and comfortable library,”– Anna, a student in SMA Mahanaim.
“This event was very interesting and beneficial, because in the beginning we are introduced about the campus, the advantages of these programs and all the programs available in UPH. Moreover, it’s really beneficial for the students because they were able to understand their own strengths through the workshops; they can get to know better about their talent through this,” – Eka, a teacher in SMA Bunda Hati Kudus
“The workshop is really fun! The explanations were great. In the beginning, I only want to join the ceramic workshop, but the whole thing turns out to be really fun and exciting. I was able to know more about the process of making a ceramic,” – Vincentius, a participant in the ceramic workshop from SMA Pax Patriae
“This workshop is really useful for the students, because they were able to grow their knowledge as well as their connection with students from another schools. I joined the movie making workshop because of my hobby. Turn out, by joining this workshop, I was able to learn more about this particular subject, and I also get to learn many other things here,” – Gabriela, a participant of the movie making workshop from Makarios Christian School.
“This is a pottery workshop; students will be able to learn about the basic techniques of pottery, such as pinching, and clay weighing; a technique to let the air out from the clay. Aside from that, we also learn about marbling technique to create a marble pattern,” – Eka Purnamasari, UPH Product Design student, Ceramic Workshop Facilitator.
“In this workshop, I shared about the basics of photography to students, such as diaphragm, shutter speed, composition, and many more. It’s not far different from High School students, because everyone has to learn from basic. The only difference is that for High School students we have to deliver the material in a more fun, and lively way, because usually, they tend to be shy,” – Tejas, a member of PHPC (UPH club Photography), Photography Workshop Facilitator.
