UPH Donates through ‘One UPH for Palu’ with Wahana Visi Indonesia.

On November 6, 2018, UPH officially donated funds collected through ‘One UPH for Palu’. All the funds were raised through a series of fund-raising activities held by the Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (University Student Council) and involving all the civitas academia of UPH on October 3-12, 2018.

The donation of Rp. 140,528,686 is symbolically handed out to Wahana Visi Indonesia (WVI) at the Rectorate Office in Building A, 9th floor. This event is attended by UPH Rector, Dr. (Hon) Jonathan L. Parapak, M.Eng.Sc., along with about 30 other participants, consisting of student representatives, study program representatives, and the Director of National Development WVI, Asteria Aritonang, along with the rest of the WVI team.

The Rector is grateful for all the students that are willing to help victims of the Palu earthquake and tsunami.

“Students are really caring for the victims. We should be grateful for the care and attention of UPH community and for WVI that helps with the donation. The UPH community shows a willingness to help, and this is a lot more valuable than the amount of money we raise,” the Rector said.

Asteria, the WVI Director of National Development, also appreciates the effort that UPH students put into this cause.

“The fact that UPH can involve all groups of students and units show that its students are incredibly creative. This is a huge potential that will be useful not only for this instance, but also for other causes in the future. There’s not been a lot of universities raising funds for the Palu – Donggala tragedy – so far there has only been less than five, which means UPH is one of very few universities that have the initiative to help with this cause.”
